Summary: Vertov's famous experimental film, with no storyline or dialogue/intertitles, records urban life in the Ukraine and other Soviet cities. Vertov’s aim was to create an authentically international absolute language of cinema, on the basis of its complete separation from the language of theatre and literature. Vertov invents, deploys and develops a wide range of cinematic techniques resulting in a fast moving and enthralling film, which is at once a documentary of a day in the life of the Soviet Union, a documentary of the filming of said documentary, and a depiction of an audience watching the film.

This rip is from the Bfi edition and I have included two audio tracks.
Audio1: Score by the Alloy Orchestra, based on Vertov instructions
Audio2: Score by In The Nursery
The film has no intertitles but embedded English subtitles appear occasionally in order to translate some signs in russian.
